Specification:
  • Functions and applications: profiling of screw and straight teeth rotors for compressors and other machines;
  • Platform and system requirements: can be installed and work within program package AutoCAD 14/2000/2002 by using standard procedure of launching. External utilities can be run from OS DOS/OS Windows or from any other program package providing the same results.
  • Software architecture and functioning: interrelated modules work within program package AutoCAD.
  • Initial generating curves forming module: creates curves to be used as initial for intermeshed profile curves sets generation. Standard graphic draw tools of AutoCAD are used as well as special tools of object creating based on a set of 35 analytical predefined curves and import/export of point arrays.
  • Profiling and calculating module: 5 base methods are applied for rotor profiling. In addition to external toothing, internal toothing and rack gearing calculations are available. Prepared initial curve is used as one of 5 types of generating curves corresponding to 5 base profiling methods. Visual and compute profile accuracy testing and control as well as calculation and design of rotors' 3d contact line are available. Profiles of disk mills and grinding wheels used in rotor teeth profile manufacture can be calculated easily and with high accuracy. Tool profile calculation allows for values of both rotor thermal deformations and defined variable gaps between rotors' contacting surfaces. Testing of profile undercutting by mill is effected in interactive mood. Correction of a particular tool in accordance with manufactured rotor measurements via feedback is possible.
  • Families of transitive rotors calculating module: the calculation of a transitive profiles' family is effected in accordance with defined initial/source and final/destiny profiles and defined variable parameters of thread lead, tooth height and form. A profiles' family can be kept on file and/or represented as 3d surface. Tabulated values of a profile's variable parameters and results of calculation including cross-section area and contact line length can be expressed in the form of a graph and/or kept on a file. Optimized profile can be selected within a family of transitive profiles in accordance with analysis of outstanding characteristics.
  • External module for approximation via least squares method: variable parameters are defined as calculation procedure results in the form of a formatted data structure determining the corresponding polynomial.
